Outreach
At First Congregational, living out our faith means serving our community with open hearts and helping hands. We believe everyone deserves compassion, support, and hope – and we’re committed to making a difference right here, right now.
Whether you want to volunteer, donate, or simply learn more, there’s a place for you in our outreach ministry.

La Romana Mission Trip
For over thirty years, Central Mass Mission has been engaged in ministry in La Romana ministry in La Romana, Dominican Republic. This mission includes mobile medical clinics, construction projects, health education, and programming for children. Pastor Julie has been on 9 mission trips and has invited our congregation to join, and a new crew from Auburn is up for the adventure in 2026!
Habitat for Humanity
We have volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and will continue to be involved in efforts to create affordable housing for all.

Worcester Fellowship
Worcester Fellowship is an outdoor church for the unhoused in downtown Worcester – we have participated in their Sunday worship services and provided bagged lunches as well as the Thursday Cafe.

Auburn Comfort Blankets
In 1997, Carole Murray brought together a group of ladies from the church and surrounding community to form a chapter of Project Linus. In 2017, the group became independent and reorganized as Auburn Comfort Blankets, also known as ACB.
ACB is a group of ladies who get together at the church every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Some ladies sew quilts at home and at church, others do finishing work on the quilts by tying them and sewing our label onto them.
The quilts are then bagged and delivered to several community service organizations: Seven Hill Foundation, The Edward Kennedy Health Center, Sherry’s House, Rose Monahan Hospice House, and Turf’s Hospital nursery in Boston.
From the beginning the ladies had a sense of purpose by using their time and talents for a worthy cause. The quilts provide warmth and comfort to the sick, injured, needy, and their families.
As well as a blessing to the recipients of the quilts, the ladies of Auburn Comfort Blankets also receive blessings in return.

Community Service

Pumpkin Patch
Each year the First Congregational Church in Auburn partners with farming operations at the Navajo Reservation in Farmington, NM.
In cooperation with the Navajo Nation, our partners grow 1,200 acres or approximately 2 square miles of pumpkins and employ over 700 Native Americans during their harvest months of September and October. They also have a full time off-season NM staff that is comprised of entirely Native Americans. This has a positive and lasting impact on a region with 42% unemployment.
The church is trusted to be diligent in selling the pumpkins, honest in reporting sales, and attentive to paying our partner’s percentage of sales.
The pumpkin patch is open daily 10am to 6pm from mid to late September until Halloween (or the pumpkins are all sold). It’s a magical time of year at our church in Auburn center! Please consider supporting two amazing charities.

Saturday Supper
This is a collaboration between Scout Troop 101 and our church, a quarterly community meal with a delicious feast for all ages.
We have enjoyed a spaghetti supper, a casual hot dog and hamburger meal with live music, and are looking forward to our Fall event on November 15: pork and green beans, autumn harvest soup and more Fall flavors.

Movie Night
The recent donation of a giant, inflatable movie screen and projector have allowed us to show a film on our beautiful front lawn on a summer night and also indoors in the cooler weather. We strive to bring people together over an array of films, some family-friendly and others with a serious faith question to explore. We can explore spirituality through many ways!
